The studio Indigo was set up by Jazmin Indigo in 2017 as a safe inspiring environment where anybody can come and work to achieve personal health goals, learn new skills, build confidence or just have fun whilst getting fit.


Here is a little bit of personal history

I was home educated from the age of six to sixteen and because of this I was lucky enough to grow up with minimal peer pressure. I didn't have a concept of body shaming, I'd never worried about my weight or paid much attention to that of others.

It wasn't really until I went to college that I discovered that the majority of people didn't have that luxury. I saw that from a young age, women and men are constantly being told that they shouldn't feel good about their bodies, whatever their shape or size there was always something they thought needed fixing.

But I'm a firm believer that healthy is beautiful and that involves thinking healthy thoughts about yourself. 

I've been to a varied selection of classes over the years and struggled with the message that most preach 'This class will make you thin, these exercises will get rid of a tubby tummy, those wobbly bits on your thighs, tighten your bum or fix the flab on your arms.'

Yes, it probably will if you train hard enough, that's what exercise does.

But the message should be more focused on the many other positive responses exercise can have on both mind and body 'You'll have more energy, a more balanced headspace, help build personal confidence and appreciate your body for what it can do over what it looks like.'


So The Studio Indigo was born, a place to help people find fitness fun, encouraging and positive.

Exercise is key to a healthy fit form and here we believe that should go hand in hand with healthy thoughts about it too. That wonderful saying "You look as good as you feel" is a firm fave with us.

Pole, Aerial, and Yoga are all wonderful for fitness and firming but also are great confidence builders. Making time for yourself, focusing on your body and the incredible things it can achieve with a little time and effort can make you feel so much more balanced.

The Somatic Stress Relief is an Initiative that combines several different styles and techniques to get you working in partnership with your body. Supporting both mental and physical heath. 

In regard to your body you’ll learn how to manage physical stress, understand where you're tight, which muscles are weak and how to stretch, strengthen, and release in ways that work for you personally. Setting yourself up for a future without aches, developing ease of movement, and building confidence in your strength, control, and a respect for your body. 

Movement can support the mind by improving depression, reducing anxiety and managing stressful reactions. 


No matter your size, shape, endurance, flexibility, or experience we will find something that works for you, even if that isn't us we will endeavor to recommend alternative options.

Everyone deserves a chance to see what their body is capable of and to feel proud of it.
